After graduating from Miami Jack High school in Miami, Florida I joined the US Army. While in the army, I studied radio repair. In Vietnam, I went into the combat arms (Infantry) as a pathfinder. I reached the rank as SSG E-6, earning a Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Soldier’s medal.
After Vietnam, I went to the ranger department as an instructor in small unit tactics. Following the Ranger Department, I went to the 2/509 airborne in Germany as the BN operations Sgt. While I was in the 509 I moved to the reenlistment NCO position and made SFC E-7. After the 509, I went to recruiting duty. There I found that I was a great salesman and marketer. I went to college part time earning a BS degree from Columbia College in Columbia, MO in marketing and studied international relations at Troy state for a Master’s degree.
After leaving the army in 1978, I went into insurance working for Prudential Insurance Company. After one year there, I went out on my own and received licenses in life, health and commercial lines, including a surplus lines underwriter. During this time I also focused on leasing and financing equipment, mainly mining and constructing. I also owned a offshore insurance company where I insured long haul trucking.
When the mortgage market started heating up, I left the insurance and equipment financing business and went into the mortgage business until the crash of 2008. My last job in the mortgage business was with Lending One as a loan officer serving the Cincinnati and Dayton markets. I wrote 111 mortgages with four defaults, where I purchase three of those mortgages. After the crash I came back into the equipment finance business.
Today, I thrive on helping people obtain loans, especially those who have difficulty getting financed. I welcome anyone who needs help finding a mortgage that is right for them.
